http://archive.org/details/EyesOfYouth has been moved.

UneNuitTerrible timed out. you could see that in the history at http://archive.org/catalog.php?history=1&;identifier=UneNuitTerrible. I restarted the derive task.

fwiw, if you have 50+ item pages created for a particular genre we can make you a collection for your items.

"http://archive.org/details/EyesOfYouth has been moved."

Thanks so much! Will the file formats derive properly now?

Timing out may have been an issue on my end. Thanks for letting me know, and where I might look to see such issues, and for re-starting it.

"fwiw, if you have 50+ item pages created for a particular genre we can make you a collection for your items"

That would be a great idea for the Segundo uploads! I didn't know I could that. Wait, how DO I do that?

i've started a derive for http://archive.org/details/EyesOfYouth.

The timeout was likely on our end.

Admins at Internet Archive make the collections. When you've got 50 item pages up you can request a collection by emailing us at info@archive.org.

Thank you for starting to derive on EoY.

I finished uploading what I have on my hard drive and I easily have over 50 Segundo de Chomón uploads here. When I write the admins, do I include all the links (oh please say no lol) or will they be able to see them in my account?

Granted, I'm tired (and so are my eyes) but I just counted 48 videos, and I'm fairly certain that's all I have. I could be wrong on the count, but does it still qualify? It's a lot of SdC when we had so little here before, and it would be smashing for him to have his own page. He really deserves it. Thoughts? (Wow, wait until we get into the Georges Méliès uploads. He's sooo gonna get his own page!)

Jeff, I wanted to send a special thank you your way. You've been terrific with advice and assistance. I'm a new uploader learning my way who didn't think I had anything to give (other than some Segundo de Chomón videos) just to find out how wrong I was. You've been so encouraging. I can't thank you enough. I didn't think I could love The Archives more than I did when I was an avid viewer, but I love them even more that I'm a contributor, too. While I'm grateful to be a part of this, and to everyone who's been encouraging and engaging, you deserve a special thank you. Thanks, Jeff. - Gen :)

PS to everyone reading this: It could happen to you! Please take another look at your hard drives, libraries and discs. You probably have treasures (books, films, etc) that people would love and don't even realize it. I didn't, but I do now! What people strive to create here is so special and rather unique, if you ask me. Keep supporting IA by donating your time, money and uploads. Keep watching, reviewing, rating. Please share. It matters a lot. Thanks so much. - Sincerely, Gen

Forum: feature_films Subject: Re: AN AMAZING THANK YOU!

If anyone ever deserved their own page, it's the often-overlooked and under-rated Segundo de Chomón.

My father introduced me to him. It's from my father I get my love for this. In my mind, I dedicate that page to him, and I thank you for it. I wish I could show it to him, it would make him so happy. Thank you, Jeff. You did a great job with the page and I can't think of anything to change.

However, no good deed goes unpunished, and you'll probably have to teach me how to drive this thing. Fortunately for both of us, I have a decent learning curve. (Please tell me you're laughing, no matter how true those statements turn out to be!)

I'm glad you like all the videos and books. I think they're cool, too, but I've always been a bit quirky. I hope people enjoy them. I'm trying really hard to get everything uploaded asfastasIcan, but I want the information on the uploads to be as correct and detailed as possible, so it takes a bit more time.

Thanks again. I have a new affinity for Tuesdays now and this makes me very, very happy. Segundo would totally approve. I just know it. - Gen :)

PS: You made me cry! lol

Hey Gen,
I just wanted to thank you for all the great films you have uploaded recently. Meilies and Chomón were geniuses. You have added to my palette of material as I enjoy searching out obscure silent films and creating soundtracks for them. If I upload anything with your films I will link you in the keywords so that people can see the originals.
And yes, Jeff is terrific.

Hello, Beep.

Nice to "meet" you and thank you for the kind words! I agree with your thoughts on Meilies and Chomón, and I'm glad you like the uploads.

I love that you create from the public domain! That's so exciting and, honestly, it's one of the reasons why I upload. Hearing this from you really made my day! I love music (a lot) and I'd like to have some links to your work please. Did you bookmark them, or is there a search query I can use?

Thank you for wanting to work with the items I've uploaded and link back to them. I will try to upload as much as I can as fast as I can to inspire your creativity - Stay Tuned!

Gen :)

PS: Here are my bookmarks. Some of my uploads are there. If you need inspiration please feel free to browse! http://archive.org/bookmarks/I%20Am%20Gen%20X

PS squared: I'll give you 25 good will points if you score some Valentino footage. It's tricky business but I have a feeling you can handle it. :D

I mean every word of that review.

My reasons for uploading, they all seem altruistic. But it's a lie. Yes, I want to share. Yes, I want people to discover something wonderful. But my most secret, selfish wish is that people like you will make ME art that I can freshly eat and enjoy.

Because, damn right, it's all about me. Didn't you know that? (I am laughing.) So go make me twenty or so more because this kind of thing is a proper return on my investment.

Gen :)
I'll keep uploading if you do, too.

Yipes! Thanks, Gen.
I went ahead and corrected the tags. Thanks for the advice.
And I just sent an email to the archive with the silent film move request.

Yipes? Nonsense. I'll feed you public domain films and you feed me your art. It's a perfectly sensible arrangement, don't you think? Works perfectly for me. :)

Here is my page:

http://archive.org/details/thecarportorchestra

It's everything from classical covers to electronic insanity and everything in between. Some things you may like. Others you may find worse than a fingernail on a chalkboard. :(

I have just started my videos recently so when I get up to 50 or more I can start the carport theatre page. For now there's this:
